Carol Dennis, a secretary at Massers the solicitors, is taking time out of the office to do voluntary work in Thailand next month.
It will be the third year Carol has worked for overseas Christian organisations Project Life and Compasio whilst working at the law firm as a secretary in the personal injury department.
She is planning to return to the town of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand with her husband Les to the Home of Joy Orphanage where they did voluntary work for 4 weeks in 2007. They also plan to return to the New Day School in Mae Sot near the Burmese border where they worked for 2 weeks.
During the visit in 2007 Carol and Les installed a water system with the help of local paid workers into the Burmese refugee school. This provided the school with 2 toilets, taps and a shower.
Carol joined Massers four years ago. She said: "It's a privilege to be able to serve people in need in other parts of the world. I am only able to do this because of the support of the partners and my colleagues at Massers."
Jeff Alvey, partner at Massers, said: "We greatly admire Carol for the voluntary work that she is doing and are pleased to support her."
