Massers Secure Law Society Quality Mark for a 4th Year

Massers have secured accreditation to the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) for the 4th year running.

The Law Society describes the CQS as providing “….a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices.  Membership achievement establishes a level of credibility for member firms with stakeholders (regulators, lenders, insurers and consumers) based upon:

  • the integrity of the Senior Responsible Officer and other key conveyancing staff
  • the firm’s adherence to good practice management standards
  • adherence to prudent and efficient conveyancing procedures through the scheme protocol

This scheme creates a trusted community which will deter fraud – year on year, we will drive up standards.”

Massers’ re-accreditation signifies the recognition that we continue to meet the high standards our conveyancing clients deserve.

Leavers and Starters!

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed two new staff to start at the end of July and beginning of August.

After almost 10 years of service we are sorry to see Suzy Ackroyd leave as Office Manager. Suzy is leaving us on 31st July to get married and will be moving away from Nottingham. We wish her all the very best in her new life. Louise Norman, who joins us on 27th July, will have the task taking the baton from Suzy and with a wealth of office management experience we are certain that she will get to grips with the post in no time at all.

Also, following Lucy Davis’ departure from the Commercial Property Department, we welcome Mandeep Kaur, who will be joining us on 3rd August to work closely with Russell Thompson, Director of Commercial.

We wish them both long and happy careers at Massers.

Massers “Bake Off” for Comic Relief!

The staff at Massers have had their own “bake off” to raise funds for Comic Relief this year.

It appears that we have some pretty good bakers in our midst as all of the entries looked and tasted delicious.

Organised by Gail Garner in our conveyancing department, all who wanted to participate paid an entrance fee and James Carley, our own “Paul Hollywood” and Director of Litigation, sampled all of the entries and chose the light, fluffy and scrumptious rainbow cupcakes baked by private client paralegal, Rebecca Holmes, crowning her as Star Baker – many congratulations to her! Second place went to our office manager, Suzy Ackroyd, who baked a lemon and poppy seed bundt cake.

Well done to all of the entrants who took part, a great effort was made by all for a good cause.

All the entries were sold off and over £150.00 was raised for Comic Relief.
